So long March.....

2 seconds later the toddler ambushed Maddox and Grace, I think it was out of love.
Happy kids!
This is part of our garden at home, just kidding.
Trey's version of "horns".
Trey participating in one of the games. He was supposed to put the flag in a bucket, but he didn't really want to do that.

What a month. Children passing disease, ear infections, more snot than I care to remember, feeling like I was a hostage in my own home, experiencing the terrible two's, two kids teething, a roof leak which resulted in the need for a brand new skylight, the expiration of a home warranty....that night we discovered that the air conditioner had stopped blowing cold air. I am ready to see March go. The light at the end of the tunnel, a trip to the Arboretum with friends. We couldn't get away from the terrible two's, but we will choose to remember the happy moments......right.

Sick of being sick

(Trey and Grace fishing)
First Trey got it and then Grace got it (by "it" I mean some gross virus that makes my children snotty, grumpy, sleepy, and sick). We have been trapped in our home for almost 2 weeks. Thank goodness my mom and Grammy came in town last week....I don't know what I would have done without their help. Today I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Trey woke up and actually seems normal, I kept him home from preschool so that he wouldn't catch something else (at least not this week) and Grace seemed happy as well. Since Christmas she has had ear infections on and off. She is, once again, on antibiotics for her fifth one in the past 4 months. She actually likes the taste of the antibiotics, kind of sad. We are hoping to actually go and do some fun things this weekend. I know some other moms are going through the same thing, based on attendance at the doctor's office I would guess half of Dallas is sick with something.

Easter

I don't about anyone else, but we have encountered more sickness this year than normal (or at least in my 2 1/2 years of being a mom). So, of course, they were both sick on Sunday. However, Trey seemed to be "well enough" to make an appearance at church, and Grace and I stayed home so that she could take a nap. After church I dressed Grace in her adorable Easter outfit and we went to Grandada Ken and Gaga's house for a wonderful lunch.

By the grace of God Trey sat through lunch without melting down, he even managed to eat a little bit of real food and a lot of cake while we enjoyed eating our lunch. The day was perfect, despite being sick, we spent time with family and we were able to reflect on God's greatest gift to us....his son. My hope for next year is that Trey will begin to understand that Easter is not about creepy bunnies and candy, but about a savior who died for our sins so that we could have eternal life. I hope that everyone else enjoyed a perfect Easter.

The Bunny

What are the odds that this bunny is some kind of predator???? Can't they find a way to make the bunny costume look a little less creepy?

10 months old

I love this age. Gracie has so much personality. She laughs at herself, she laughs at us, she laughs at the cat, she laughs at anything. She can crawl and pull herself up. She loves to pretend that our house is a giant obstacle course, I usually find her under a table or in a laundry basket. She can say bye bye, mama, dada, and she attempts to say kitty. She has 2 teeth. She seems to get an ear infection every few weeks, but that doesn't really phase her. She finally loves to sleep through the night. She also loves to eat. So far there is no food that she won't inhale. I can't believe that in two months she will be one!
