Funny Boys

Kenny and Trey always make me laugh.

Imagine a 2 year old monotone voice. Trey enters the room, "Here I am, ta da", jazz hands.

The other day Kenny was telling me that he liked the new hand soap I bought him. It is some kind of ocean smell. He then said "the only problem is that when I take a shower sea horses come out of my butt"....maybe you had to be there, but it still makes me laugh.

2 nights ago I go in to check on Trey before I went to bed and he has his flashlight on, pointing directly into his eyes, fast asleep.

Trey's favorite food is "birthday cake". He makes a funny smacking noise anytime he has cake near his cute little face.

Trey loves to color in his coloring book. Kenny came in and was trying to "teach" Trey colors. He asked Trey what color one of the crayons was and Trey said purple. Kenny said, "no, it's green". I looked over and the crayon was purple. Maybe if you are color blind you should check the label on the crayon.

Kenny and Trey, I love you so much. Thank you for making each day fun!

Sesame Street Live

Huge puppets dancing, bright lights coming out of nowhere, kids screaming, the smell of cheerios and dirty diapers, cameras flashing every few seconds, our favorite songs from Sesame Street playing in the background....definitely a night to remember. Trey was mesmerized by Sesame Street Live. When we got there he was blown away. He did not say a single word during the first half of the performance, he would just clap and stare. He was upset that the sesame street crew disappeared during intermission, but was relieved when that ended. He joined in during the "Elmo's world" chorus. I love how he knows the last word of every sentence (ie. da, da, da, da WORLD). At the end he couldn't stop clapping and saying bye-bye to all of the characters. I know he won't remember that we did this, but he sure did have fun in the moment.

Nonsense

"Oh Daddy, stop you are too funny".
*The overalls Trey is wearing were ones that Kenny wore when he was little. Can anyone imagine Kenny this size??
"She stole my pretzels" the first of many sibling fights.
Trey and Daddy watching Curious George.
Trey loves to pretend like he is cooking.

Just a few pictures. Saturday night Kenny and I are taking Trey to see Sesame Street Live. I can't wait to see how that goes. He will either be mesmerized or scared to death. Look forward to pictures from our pre-party. We will be drinking juice boxes and singing the theme song, Sunny days.....

Happy Valentine's Day

Love, love, love. We sure do love each other in this family! Trey loved exchanging valentines with friends and family (almost as much as the piece of candy he was given at the Y today). He was very excited to show me his bag of cards from his preschool friends. We finally got his glasses (he has them on because he is busy eating something loaded with sugar). He wore them for a total of 10 minutes yesterday, in honor of valentine's day we took a day off, but tomorrow we will give it another try.

9 months old

At 9 months Gracie is doing all kinds of thing. She is starting to eat some finger food (puffs, teething biscuits, pizza crust, bananas, food off the floor, etc.). She is sleeping through the night, HALLELUIA; I finally started shutting our door at night so that I couldn't hear her every peep and that seemed to do the trick. I was probably so tired the first night we did it I slept through whatever crying took place and since then she has been making it all night long. She can use a sippy cup now (with assistance). She can crawl up the few stairs we have in our house. She loves to laugh, especially at Trey. She can clap her hands and wave. She has a pink soft blanket that I finally found a duplicate of so that we could switch it out when one needs to be washed. Unfortunately she seems to live with a cold/ear infection or both most of time, but what can you expect when you have a 2 year old friend who doesn't know the meaning of personal space. I know I say it every time, but we could not imagine life without her.

Around the House

We can't get enought of Trey's hugs. I really was getting sick of this Christmas wrapping paper. I guess Trey was thinking the same thing.

AHHHHHH, I need to grab something.

A few pictures of us hanging out around the house. I have been caught up in two books that I bought last week, Redeeming Love and The Shack, I am reading them simultaneously. I have been telling Kenny about both of them and he pretends to be interested, but I am hooked on both books. Trey and Grace are not crazy about me reading while they are awake so I have been staying up late. It is taking all of my will power to not flip to the last chapter in both of them to find out what happens. I am really bad about that, especially if the book is getting boring.

New Camera

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me. Best birthday yet. Kenny sent me flowers, bought me a cake, gave me a new camera, arranged for his parents to babysit, took me to dinner and then to see 27 Dresses. I was showered with cards and gifts from family and friends. I am so thankful.
I have always thought that heels and a baseball hat make a simple yet classic fashion statement.

She is almost at a full crawl.
Trey and I were playing outside. I usually just leave Grace in the playroom and watch her from the patio. She has finally figured out that she can come to the glass and watch us. I wish I could have gotten a better action shot, at one point she had her entire tongue against the glass. Good thing I had cleaned the windows the day before.
"I love you mommy and daddy, thank you for all you do!!!"....something like that.
