We broke in the m.v. with a nice family vacation to the ranch. It now smells like diapers, food, milk, and stickiness. We left on Thursday after Kenny got off work and arrived around midnight. Trey made it the whole way without falling asleep, we were so proud. Grace on the other hand fell asleep around 9 and except for the occasional yelp she slept until we got there (that was the plan).
We went to a parade in Comfort on the 4th and after the parade Trey made his way to the bounce house and went wild for 20 minutes. He finally came out bright red, sweaty, and crying to go back in. Last year I tried to get him to try a bounce house and he wouldn't have anything to do with it. It's funny how those things change. Kenny's parents arrived later that day and we all got to eat dinner together. The kids were asleep before any fireworks began, but Kenny and I were able to walk to the top of one of the hills at the ranch and watch 3 fireworks shows once it got dark.
The rest of the trip was spent playing outside, eating, shopping, eating, sleeping, eating, chasing Trey and Grace around, Kenny and his dad shot guns at something, and just having fun. As always we were so grateful that Kenny's parents were gracious enough to have us and feed us and help with the kids, even though we see them all the time at home it is still fun to meet up with them at the ranch. We left on Sunday at 11 am and made it back around 4:30. That DVD player is a treasure. Trey was captivated for most of the trip by the movies and it even settled Grace down at one point when she decided she could not be in her car seat for one more second. It was totally worth the negotiating at the car dealership. We look forward to many more adventures in our family ride.

I'm glad you all had a good trip! That van is SUPER cool. I'm jealous you went to a parade! We missed ours here in the area. Gracie's crocs are SO cute! Where did you get them? I can't ever find Mylie's size unless I order them online. Yes, let's meet at the Galleria. I'll email you this week.
I cannot believe how big Grace is getting!!! Glad you had a good holiday, and it is really nice to live close to family.
One clarification - we were shooting at clay targets and not at live animals. Trey looks pretty tough in the camo and boots, dosn't he?! -Kenny
