We ate and ate and ate. It snowed twice. Trey and I saw 6 deer in my parent's front yard (the last picture was my attempt of getting a picture of the deer, you can see one if you look really hard). Kenny and I ran the Thanksgiving day run in 20 degree weather. We survived airport travel with two kids, two car seats, two strollers, and two carry-ons on the two busiest travel days of the year. We are thankful for our many blessings, the time we got to spend with family and friends, and we are thankful to be back home.

Trey's Turn
my turn, mine, me, no...just a few of Trey's favorite phrases. However, he evens them out with please, thank you, and love you..so, I guess we will keep him. Turning two has definitely brought about some changes in Trey, he is definitely testing out every boundary possible, which keeps me on my toes all day long. Apparently he is shy at school and just observes, which is hard for me to even comprehend. From the time he wakes up he is shouting, "LIBBY, come get me!!!! Where's Daddy, Where's baby, AHHH I hear Grace, Daddy's at work, cars, I want to play with cars, hold me, train, blue train, mine.....". The other day I was talking to my sister on the phone and I did not realize that Trey had gotten into the garage. All of a sudden I hear real crying, I ran in and a ladder was laying on top of Trey. Immediately I start to think about which hospital should I take him to or should I call an ambulance. When I pick up the ladder and stand Trey up he stops crying, gives me a hug, says something about the ladder being bad, and walks inside. Today he did not even go near the ladder, maybe I should let more of those natural consequences occur. That seemed to work better than what I am doing.

The Many Faces of Grace
I can't believe it. In 6 months Grace will be one! She is such a happy baby. Even when she wakes in the middle of the night to eat (yes, it is still happening) I can't help but laugh as she smiles and waves her arms frantically as I pick her up out of her bed. Here are her stats: 17 lbs (75%) and 26 in. (50%). She would probably be sitting up on her own, but she gets so excited over just about anything that she will stiffen up and lose her balance. She loves the jumpy thing that hangs from the dorm frame (and I'm sure has been recalled). She will jump up and down while I cook and she loves it when Trey swings her in it. She went to the nursery for the first time during church today and made it half way through. Apparently she loved cradle roll but when it was over she started to cry, so they finally paged me and she came into the service with me and just sat in her carrier and stared at me. We all love watching her change!

Catching up....
Kenny and I took a quick trip to Kansas City last week to be at my Grandma's funeral. We are going to miss her, but we find a great deal of peace knowing that we will see her again when our lives on this earth are over. I have so many wonderful memories of her and my Grandpa. Kenny and I both had wonderful grandparents who made such lasting impressions on both of our lives.
Due to the timing of the funeral we were not able to go trick-or-treating with Trey, but he enjoyed celebrating the day with Gaga and Ken. Apparantly he loved the idea of going up to strangers doors and getting treats. Here is the deal on the costumes. Kenny had a great idea to dress Trey up as Elmo and then Grace could be Zowie (Elmo's friend). There were no Zowie costumes, so I found a fairy princess costume (since Zowie is kind of dressed up like that). I attempted to find muppet hair for her to wear, but nothing seemed to work. Since they did not get to go trick-or-treating, as planned, I put their costumes on a few days early and took pictures. Trey refused to wear the complete costume for the pictures and I kept the tags on Grace's costume and returned it the day before halloween. Next year I will put some more thought into it....maybe.
